Early Friday morning, Buzz City learned Jannero Pargo was returning to the Hornets. This was a move that a lot of us saw coming, as the Bobcats were known to carry a third point guard in the past seasons. That’s exactly what Pargo will be, as he’ll find himself behind the likes of Kemba Walker and Brian Roberts on the depth chart.
While Pargo’s minutes could be minimal, he’s a great teammate and a capable point guard. You don’t want your players to get injured, but you always have to be prepared for the worst. By bringing Pargo back, you get a guy that is certainly capable of filling in at backup point guard if Walker or Roberts were to go down.
As far as future free-agency signings go, Charlotte could use some more frontcourt depth, so they could choose to get another big man.
More importantly, something that a lot of people are expecting is a trade to be made by the Hornets. Now that Lance Stephenson is officially signed, Charlotte has four guys capable of giving solid minutes at the two guard. Expect Gerald Henderson or Gary Neal to be moved. The more likely player would be Henderson, as Neal fits the backup role to Stephenson better. However, don’t be surprised if Neal is shopped, as his expiring contract could be valuable in the trade market.
