Matchup: Bobcats (41-39) AT Hawks (37-43)
Venue: Philips Arena, Atlanta, GA
*First string point guard Kemba Walker is once again listed as questionable for tonight's contest against the Hawks. Walker was injured last week in Washington and has subsequently missed the ‘Cats’ last two games. Check our Twitter feed later today for an update on his status.
To me, this is nearly a must win for the Bobcats. If the playoffs started today, Charlotte would be matched up with Miami, a team that the ‘Cats have not beaten in the LeBron James era. Ironically enough, the ‘Cats need help from the Heat as the combination of a Bobcats’ win and Heat victory over Washington would result in Charlotte regaining the sixth seed in the Eastern Conference.
What’s interesting is that Atlanta has already clinched the playoffs as the eighth seed, and therefore they don’t have much to play for tonight. With that being said, I wouldn’t expect the Hawks to rest any starters, but we will know more closer to game time.
Hopefully the Bobcats understand that the kind of basketball they played this past weekend is not going to get it done. That being said, I believe that the ‘Cats will build off of Saturday’s win and finally beat the Hawks for the first time this season by the final score of 101-95.
