Who: Charlotte Hornets (1-2) at New Orleans Pelicans (1-2)
What: Regular season game #4
Where: Smoothie King Center, New Orleans, LA
When: Tuesday, November 4th; 8:00 EST
PG: Kemba Walker (15.7 PPG) Vs Jrue Holliday (16.0 PPG)
SG: Gerald Henderson* (4.0 PPG) Vs Eric Gordon (4.0 PPG)
SF: Lance Stephenson (7.7 PPG) Vs Tyreke Evans (17.0 PPG)
PF: Marvin Williams (9.0 PPG) Vs Anthony Davis (28.5 PPG)
C: Al Jefferson (18.0 PPG) Vs Omer Asik (13.5 PPG)
*Henderson will be filling in for the injured MKG tonight against New Orleans. This will push Lance to the small forward position, giving the Hornets relatively small starting five. However, considering Stephenson’s matchup in Tyreke Evans, “Born Ready” shouldn’t have too tough of a time adjusting to the three spot.
Matchup To Watch For
Marvin Williams Vs Anthony Davis: Despite the Hornets’ recent success in the past season, it’s always nice to imagine what could’ve been with Anthony Davis instead of MKG, a result of the then Bobcats getting the second overall pick in the 2012 despite having the worst season in NBA history in the season before. Tonight will be another opportunity to see Davis, who is quietly becoming one of the best players in the league for New Orleans. Meanwhile, even though Big Al and the “Brow” won’t be matched up against one another at the start of the game, it’ll be great to see the two battle for points down low.
Despite last Sunday’s disappointing loss in New York and MKG’s injury, I still have the Hornets winning this one. Look for Big Al to dominate New Orleans once again. Hornets win 110-101.
